About Vecxi
We question God. We create imagery that questions God and our absurdity—that’s our focus. Vecxi was founded by disillusioned commercial artist, Toron Smith. After a fulfilling and unfulfilled career in the creative industry and corporate world at large, Vecxi began as an extension of Smith’s freelance design outpost. The medium transformed into a conceptual and digital arts format, ranging from distinctly small to ultra-large artworks. Our creative process explores the relationship between individual images when overlaid in multiples, often when arranged using transparent layers. With a wealth of experience in the production arts, we promote collaboration through advisory for clients translating their artwork from digital concept to physical display.
Our Category
Conceptual and production art categories offer a rare and unrealized opportunity for growth within the wider visual arts space. Category growth is led first through education, in showcasing the work’s versatility, living seamlessly in transition between digital formats while maintaining the work's original intent. Secondly through production integrity, as artwork owners have the unique opportunity to store or port works digitally, in diverse ranges for distribution and reproduction at leisure.
Artwork Images
Vecxi artworks are created using either vector or raster-based software. The following is a refresh for both formats. Vector art is digital artwork made from mathematical equations, allowing it to be scaled infinitely without losing quality. It’s ideal for graphics, icons, illustrations, and print materials that need crispness at any size, created using software programs like Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Corel Draw, and Figma, to name a few. Most original Vecxi artworks are vector-formatted and created using vector applications. Raster art is digital artwork made from a grid of pixels and is ideal for making photorealistic images and complex paintings within defined dimensions. It uses universally recognized files like JPEG, PNG, and TIFF formatting. Popular raster software includes Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, GIMP, and Corel Painter. At Vecxi, we offer raster artworks as an alternative option (to vector original pieces) for digital prints in edition sets.
